Collages
When collaging, I like to find juxtaposition of life and art through imagery and mix that with cohesiveness of color. A lot of print ephemera comes from discarded National Geographic magazines and upcycling pages from the yearly Metropolitan Museum of Art tabletop calendar.
While being a student at NC State, I created the t-shirt design for NC State’s yearly Design Studio Collective, an event that showcases student design work and is open to the public. The “Design Life” print was inspired by plastic New York “Thank You” bags, as the imprint is not copywritten and difficult to trace the origin, just as many designers' concepts are created by an assortment of inspiration.
During the event, I screen-printed the t-shirts for over 300 attendees.
